CASA lists various types of housing for you (residences, private rentals, shared flats, home-stays, or in exchange for services) managed by different landlords (CROUS, associations, public landlords, private landlords, and companies) throughout the Île-de-France region.

This platform has been created to assist you in finding housing that matches your profile and needs, giving you direct visibility of available accommodations.

In just a few clicks:

  1. Create your student profile
  2. Find offers based on your search criteria
  3. Save your favorite offers in your account
  4. Consult advice on searching for housing, budgeting, applying for financial aid, and assembling your application
  5. If needed, contact your institution using the contact form

Several affordable bakeries and restaurants are located nearby.

Please note that La Fabuleuse Cantinean organic restaurant offering discounted rates for students (around 5 euros per meal), is also located on campus.

Specialities And Tracks

See the attached documents for a list of courses.

All students at the Saint-Étienne site follow a common curriculum in optical engineering, with applications in image formation and processing, material appearance, lighting, and energy.

The Saint-Étienne program is an optical engineering program with a strong emphasis on practical work, design offices, and projects. It includes two major areas:

  • Design of complex optical systems (practical work on Zemax, freeform optics, radiometry of instruments, particularly for astronomy)
  • Measurement and control of visual appearance (measurement and control of color, texture, and gloss, particularly for art restoration, cosmetics, and healthcare)

And one minor area:

  • Optics for energy (heat transfer, lighting, solar energy: photovoltaics & solar mirrors, non-imaging optics design).

It should be noted that the proportion of students pursuing a PhD is the same as at other sites, but theses are more likely to be carried out in industry or applied research centers.
