Opportunities at Institut d'Optique
Institut d’Optique Graduate School is unique in that it is the only Grande Ecole of Engineering specialising entirely in Optics and Photonics, two branches of science that present exciting challenges in the rapidly changing world of high-precision technology.
Institut d’Optique provides a first class education, training students for careers in industry and research in applied and theoretical optics and photonics at the master and doctoral level
The main course of study at Institut d’Optique leads to the award of the nationally accredited Diplôme d’Ingénieur de l’Institut d’Optique Théorique et Appliquée, equivalent to an integrated Master of Science in Engineering.
It is also possible to take a Master in Optics and Photonics which has several study lines including an international study track taught entirely in English. Students taking the OpSciTech (Optics in Science and Technology) Erasmus Mundus Master will follow courses from this international track.
One of the distinguishing features of the OpScitech Master course is that students spend one year in each of two institutions in two different countries and obtain two Master degrees from institutions at the forefront of research and teaching in Optics: Institut d’Optique/Université Paris-Sud 11 (France), Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena (Germany), Technische Universiteit Delft (the Netherlands), Politechnika Warszawska (Poland), Imperial College London (United Kingdom).
The Charles Fabry Laboratory of the Institut d'Optique and a number of neighbouring university and company research laboratories offer a wide choice of master theses and PhD opportunities in fundamental and applied fields of optics and photonics.
